Accelerated Reader
This reading program encourages students to choose books at their individual reading level, set goals and progress from there. Increased comprehension and motivation to read are some of the benefits. After reading a book, students take a computer quiz to test their vocabulary, understanding and higher literacy skills. Teachers can also monitor student progress.

Support the Carpenter Library
We welcome your donations of books, library supplies or cash gifts. New, hardcover books are most appreciated, but gently-used books of all types will be put to good use. Speak to the librarian for a current library wish list or to discuss volunteer opportunities. Some recurring needs include volunteers to re-shelve books, tape for book repair, paper towels and mild cleanser to clean books, Mylar to cover books and ink for our printer.
You can also support the library by shopping at the PTA-sponsored book fairs or participating in our book exchanges.
