Annual Giving Campaign
YOU MAKE IT CARPENTER
Carpenter Community Charter, a 2018 California Distinguished School, is consistently earning high state testing scores and ranking among the top primary schools in the state and local area. These achievements are due in large part to our families' generous and necessary financial support of the Annual Giving Campaign as well as the excellent teachers and staff at Carpenter.
The Annual Giving Campaign bridges the gap between the basic, minimum funding provided by LAUSD and the essential 21st century academic programs, learning technology and specialized teachers necessary to promote the highly successful learning environment at Carpenter. Simply put, public funding alone does not provide for enrichment programs, nor does it guarantee academic excellence for our children. That's why we need the Annual Giving Campaign, and that’s why your donation, in any amount, is critical!
What does the Annual Giving Campaign pay for?
The Annual Giving Campaign is vitally important to the education and safety of all Carpenter students. The Annual Giving Campaign, NOT LAUSD, pays for the following enrichment programs and enhancements; programs that helped Carpenter earn its California Distinguished School Award. Without the Carpenter parent community's continued support of the Annual Giving Campaign, these enrichment programs and services might be drastically reduced or eliminated:
-
Science Program: extensive experimental supplies and hands on lessons by a highly qualified science teacher
-
Computer Literacy Program: Chromebooks for all 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, software upgrades, instruction in the computer lab, as well as in-classroom technology instruction
-
Music Program: singing, dancing, acting, and creativity for EVERY student in the school all overseen by our wonderful music director
-
Writing and Reading Workshop: Training in 21st century instructional programs
-
Physical Education: playground equipment (balls, jump ropes, hula hoops and more); all supervised by two incredible PE instructors
-
Art Program: art supplies and additional art enrichment activities to support classroom teachers
-
Restorative Justice: Program led by our very own Vice-Principal, Mr. Gorton, to help our students focus on community building and strengthening relationships which help create a kind and encouraging environment, online and in school
