In the spirit of keeping the Carpenter community informed of important school announcements, we publish an e-mail blast, which is distributed to every classroom on Monday and Friday each week, by the classroom parents. The email blast includes official school announcements and activities, as well as events and activities endorsed by Carpenter's key parent organizations, the PTA and PFC.

We encourage all Carpenter Community members to check e-mail frequently, to visit the school website (www.carpentercharter.org) and to follow Mr. Martinez on Twitter (http://twitter.com/carpenteravesch).

Email Blast Submission Guidelines

In order for a message to be included in the E-Mail Blast to all Carpenter Families, the following guidelines must be observed:

  1. Messages must be short and to the point (preferably no more than one paragraph), without graphics and MUST include a contact person AND THEIR CONTACT INFO - either an e-mail address or phone number in the text of the e-mail.
  2. Messages must pertain directly to PFC, PTA, Governance or official school/school district activities and/or events that take place at the school. The E-mail blast is not intended for the promotion of personal news or announcements.
  3. Messages for outside companies or businesses (including enrichment programs) must be sponsored by PTA, PFC or take place on campus.  Any announcements that are not sponsored by an official school organization MUST be approved by Mr. Martinez before they are submitted for publication.
  4. Format:  Please use Arial 14 point type, flush left, and bold for headlines only. To keep our communication streamlined and efficient, we discourage the use of colored text and will not publish files with e-mails with embedded graphics.
  5. On rare occasions, a message may be sent separately from the newsletter but only on an emergency/urgent basis, and with prior approval from Mr. Martinez.

Exceptions to this rule: any routine, reminder type message for ongoing events (such as recycling, etc) may be sent as long as there is NO date/deadlines in the message, it has been approved for the initial sending, includes a contact person AND the contacts phone number and/or email address.

Deadline for submissions:  The deadline for a message to be submitted for approval is Saturday at 9 pm for the Sunday night blast, and Wednesday at 9 pm for the Thursday night blast.  Unfortunately, we will not accept late submissions. No exceptions. Once you have submitted the message to the appropriate party and it has been approved it will then be forwarded to Jiean Park for distribution.
